What is Travel Vient?

Travel Vient publishes verified airline baggage rules, airport connection times, cruise line policies, eSIM plans, packing lists, comparisons, and travel tools. The baggage, connection, cruise, and eSIM data is read from the company or government page that publishes it (connection times from OAG data), with the source linked; comparisons and guides list their own sources, some third-party. That covers 80 airlines, 112 airports, and 13 cruise lines, plus head-to-head airline, cruise, eSIM, and travel app comparisons and free embeddable widgets.

Travel Vient is published by Vient, Caden's independent software studio.

Who runs it

Travel Vient is run by Caden Sorenson, a senior staff engineer with 15+ years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Utah State University. Caden is based in Logan, Utah. Connect on LinkedIn or GitHub.

How we check the data

Every figure on a data page carries a link to the source it was read from and the date it was last verified. Each record is re-checked against that source on a schedule, from every 30 days for the most volatile data to every 365 days for the slowest-changing reference pages, stalest first. How the content is made

There is no content team. The comparison, airport, cruise, packing, and destination pages are generated from the verified data and reviewed by Caden. The blog posts are Caden's own writing. The long-form guides are drafted with AI assistance from that verified data and Caden's research notes, then edited and reviewed by Caden against the primary sources before publishing. The methodology explains who does what in more detail.

How the site is funded

Travel Vient is reader-supported. It earns money from display ads served by Journey by Mediavine and from affiliate links, which pay a small commission if you book or buy through them, at no extra cost to you. We never rank, recommend, or promote a product because of its commission rate. The affiliate disclosure lists the programs, and the privacy policy covers the ads and cookies.
