Travel Vient ("we," "us," or "our") operates travelvient.com and its subdomains. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, the analytics and advertising partners we work with, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

If you contact us via email or a contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content. We use this only to respond to your inquiry.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our sites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data including your IP address, browser type, and referring page in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Our analytics and advertising partners, described below, also collect data through cookies and similar technologies when you browse the site.

First-Party Analytics

Alongside the third-party analytics described below, we run our own privacy-respecting analytics to understand which tools people use. When you view a page, interact with a widget, click an outbound link, or run a search, we log an anonymous event containing:

  • The event type (page view, tool use, outbound click, search, embed load)
  • The page path (and search query, for search events)
  • The referring site, if any
  • The utm_source parameter, if your URL had one
  • Your country, derived from Cloudflare's CF-IPCountry header (your IP address itself is not stored)
  • Your device class (mobile, tablet, or desktop), derived from your user-agent string

This first-party analytics layer sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses, and assigns no visitor IDs, fingerprints, or cross-session identifiers. Events are stored in our own Cloudflare D1 database and are not shared with third parties. We use sessionStorage (which is not a cookie) only to carry your utm_source across pages within a single session so we can attribute traffic correctly.

Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We display ads and measure traffic through the third-party partners below. These partners set first- and third-party cookies and use similar technologies (pixels, tags, local storage) to measure visits and, for advertising, to show and personalize ads. This is a change from our earlier practice: parts of the site now carry cookie-setting analytics and advertising.

  • Google Analytics 4 for aggregate traffic measurement. It sets cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish visitors and sessions. We do not enable Google Signals or ads personalization on this property, so it is used for analytics, not advertising. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to opt out, and we honor the Global Privacy Control signal (see below).
  • Journey by Mediavine for display advertising. Mediavine and its advertising partners set cookies and use similar technologies to serve and, where permitted, personalize ads. Mediavine operates the consent banner and the "Do Not Sell or Share My Information" control described under Your Privacy Choices. Full details are in the Mediavine section at the end of this policy.
  • Grow by Mediavine for on-site engagement features, loaded as part of the Mediavine ad script. It sets cookies to remember your interactions.
  • Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, and bot protection. Cloudflare processes request metadata as part of its service. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Maps (OpenStreetMap) for the interactive maps on our airport and cruise-port pages. Map tiles load from OpenStreetMap's tile servers (tile.openstreetmap.org), operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, and the map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors. As part of each tile request, the OpenStreetMap Foundation receives your IP address, your browser's user agent, and the page requesting the map. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts only on our SEO scanner tool at /tools/seo-check/. That tool loads its typefaces from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), so Google receives your IP address and browser user agent when you open it. The rest of the site serves its fonts from our own servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.

You can also block or clear cookies through your browser settings, though some site features may not work as well if you do.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links on our pages are affiliate links (through programs such as Travelpayouts, Stay22, Amazon Associates, and Saily). If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These are plain tagged links; the destination site, not ours, may set cookies once you click through. We only add affiliate tags to links we place deliberately, and we do not run any script that rewrites your links or scans the pages you visit.

Your Privacy Choices

You can control how your data is used in several ways:

  • Consent banner (EEA and UK visitors). Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom see a consent banner, operated by Mediavine, before personalized ads are shown. You can accept or reject, and reopen your choices at any time from the privacy link in the site footer.
  • "Do Not Sell or Share My Information." Visitors in California and other U.S. states with applicable laws see a "Do Not Sell or Share My Information" link (provided by Mediavine) that lets you opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC). We honor the GPC browser signal. When your browser or a privacy extension sends GPC, we do not load Google Analytics, and Mediavine treats the signal as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for advertising.
  • Advertising industry opt-outs. You can opt out of interest-based advertising through the Network Advertising Initiative, the Digital Advertising Alliance, and, for Google specifically, Google Ad Settings.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request that we delete or correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do allow advertising partners to use cookies and identifiers for cross-context behavioral advertising, which California law may treat as "sharing" or a "sale." You can opt out of this at any time by using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Information" link described above, or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honor automatically. Exercising these choices will not cause you to see fewer ads; the ads you see will be non-personalized. To exercise your right to know, delete, or correct, contact us at hello@vient.org. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Operate and maintain our websites and products
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide support
  • Analyze usage trends and improve our content
  • Display advertising that helps fund the site

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data with the analytics and advertising partners listed above, and with the service providers that host and protect our sites, only as necessary to operate them and to serve ads. Some of this sharing for advertising may qualify as a "sale" or "sharing" under California law, which you can opt out of as described above.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Our first-party analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymized form. Data held by our partners is retained according to their own policies.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@vient.org.

Children's Privacy

Our sites are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to This Policy

Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a "device") by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. A third-party cookie is frequently used in behavioral advertising and analytics and is created by a domain other than the website you are visiting. The Website collects the following data using a cookie when serving personalized ads:

  • Operating System version

  • Web browser type
  • Email (in hashed form)

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor's referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.
