Travel research publisher and senior staff engineer
Caden Sorenson
Caden Sorenson runs Vientapps, an independent travel research and tools site covering airline carry-on policies, packing lists, and head-to-head airline, cruise, and destination comparisons, with everything cited to primary sources. He's a senior staff engineer with 15+ years of experience building iOS apps, web platforms, and developer tools, and a Computer Science graduate from Utah State University. Based in Logan, Utah.
“Sorenson built a pair of tools that let travelers enter bag dimensions and see instantly which of 75 airlines will accept it as a carry-on or personal item. Every entry is manually verified against airline published policy.”
I am a senior staff engineer with 15+ years of experience shipping software across mobile, web, and backend systems. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Utah State University, where I focused on software development.
By day I lead engineering work on production systems at scale. By night I run Vientapps, where I apply the same rigor to small indie projects: real architecture, accessible UI, honest SEO, and write-ups of what actually worked.
What I build
I run Vientapps, a one-person indie studio shipping small, focused tools: iOS apps, Chrome extensions, web utilities, and travel tools. Every project is built in public with an honest write-up of what worked, what broke, and what I would do differently.
I take on a small number of client projects each year through Vientapps, mostly custom web apps, iOS apps, and AI-powered tools. If you have a project in mind, reach out.
