Terminals & connections
Václav Havel Airport Prague has 2 terminals. Transfer system: Terminal 1 (non-Schengen) and Terminal 2 (Schengen) form one connected complex; crossing between them is a Schengen border crossing with passport control plus a security check. Floors run 40 domestic, 55 for the other three sectors. The story is the Terminal 1 (non-Schengen) / Terminal 2 (Schengen) split: a connection that crosses between the two terminals crosses the Schengen border, so you clear passport control and a security check. MCT applies only to single bookings with through-checked bags. Smartwings (QS) is the hub carrier and files no same-airline exception in the STANDARD block. (Czech Airlines, the former hub carrier, ceased operations in 2024.)
Terminal 1
Serves flights to/from countries outside the Schengen Area (non-Schengen). Security check is at each gate. Passport control sits at the boundary with Schengen Terminal 2.
Terminal 2
Serves Schengen flights. One central security control just behind passport control. FastTrack security available here for layovers of 3 hours or less.
