SunComfort passengers board first. If you are on SunLight, plan for a very small bag, there is no room for a second item inside the 4 kg slot.

What counts as a personal item on SunExpress

Allowed

  • Handbag
  • Laptop bag
  • Small daypack

Counts as a second carry-on

  • Full roller bag on SunLight
  • Second carry-on beyond the single cabin piece

Common SunExpress carry-on mistakes

  • Booking SunLight without realizing the cabin bag drops to 40x30x20 cm and 4 kg.
  • Packing skis or bikes without prepaying special baggage, gate fees are much higher.
  • Assuming Turkish Airlines or Lufthansa baggage rules apply, SunExpress has its own fare table.

What happens if your bag does not fit on SunExpress

At AYT and IZM gates, agents routinely weigh cabin bags during Germany bank departures. Overweight bags are checked and the per-kilogram excess fee applies.

SunExpress vs Pegasus Airlines carry-on

SunExpress and Pegasus compete head-on for Turkey-Germany leisure traffic. SunExpress cabin bag on its mainline fares is 8 kg at 55x40x23 cm, compared with Pegasus at 8 kg and 55x40x20 cm, so SunExpress is slightly more generous on depth. Pegasus's ultra-low EcoJet fare commonly beats SunExpress SunLight on headline price but unbundles almost everything including seat selection. SunExpress flies AYT and IZM as true operating bases with connection banks, while Pegasus hubs SAW in Istanbul with broader onward Europe coverage. For Antalya-bound German travelers, SunExpress typically wins on nonstop frequency and included baggage when bought on SunValue.
