Formal night frequency

On longer Disney Cruise Line sailings, guests have one formal night and one semi-formal night. Shorter sailings feature an optional 'dress-up night' instead. All sailings include Pirate Night (or another themed deck party) where pirate attire is encouraged and a complimentary bandana is provided in each stateroom.

Disney Cruise Line alcohol policy

At embarkation, guests 21 and older may bring aboard one unopened bottle of wine or sparkling wine up to 750 ml, or six beers up to 12 ounces each. Alcohol must be in original sealed containers and packed in carry-on, not checked, bags. As of the June 2026 policy, any alcohol bought in ports of call is collected and stored until the end of the cruise, so it cannot be consumed onboard during the voyage.

Disney Cruise Line gratuities

Disney Cruise Line recommends a gratuity of $16.00 per night per guest, including children, for standard staterooms. It covers the dining room server, assistant server, head server, and stateroom host. Guests in Concierge staterooms and suites are recommended $27.25 per night per guest, which adds the Concierge team. A separate 18% gratuity is added to bar, beverage, adult dining, and spa purchases.

Disney Cruise Line smoking policy

Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is only allowed in designated open-air deck areas, which vary by ship (for example Deck 4 aft and Deck 13 or 14 areas on the newer ships, and Deck 4 starboard evenings plus Deck 9 forward on the Magic and Wonder). Pipes and cigars are not permitted in public areas.
