Bringing your own alcohol

MSC does not allow guests to bring alcohol aboard unless specifically permitted by security. Security may inspect any container and will dispose of concealed alcohol. Alcohol bought in the onboard shops or in ports must be handed to security when you re-board; it is held by the ship and returned just before the end of the cruise.

MSC offers a drink package but does not publish a fixed daily price. It is quoted by ship and sailing when you book.
What's included and the rules
The Premium Extra Package covers specialty coffee and hot drinks, soft and energy drinks, juices and smoothies, AQUA by MSC still and sparkling water, non-alcoholic beers, wines and cocktails, draught and bottled beers, cocktails and spritzes, premium spirits and liqueurs, and premium wine and sparkling wine by the glass. It works in specialty restaurants and on MSC's private islands Ocean Cay and Sir Bani Yas. The Alcohol-Free Package covers the non-alcoholic items only and is not accepted in specialty restaurants or on private islands. A Minors Package covers children and teens. MSC no longer sells its Easy and Easy Plus packages, though ones added before December 18, 2024 remain valid.
Beverage gratuities are included in every MSC beverage package, though MSC does not publish a percentage. Underage guests must buy the Minors Package when an adult buys a beverage package, and guests who want to dine together at the same table must all have the same package. The Premium Extra Package allows up to 15 alcoholic drinks per guest per day, counted from 06:00 to 06:00, and drinks after that are charged at full menu price. MSC does not publish a daily price on this page, and prices shown in the MyMSC area are already discounted for online booking.

The minimum age is set by the home and destination ports: 21 on ships sailing from North America, the United Arab Emirates, and at MSC's private destinations; 20 from Japan; and 18 from South America, Europe, most of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

The US fleet sells three packages: Premium Extra (the all-inclusive alcohol package), an Alcohol-Free Package, and a Minors Package, which minors can use at specialty restaurants and MSC private islands when with an adult who has Premium Extra. Package holders may have up to 15 alcoholic drinks per day. MSC shows package prices only inside a logged-in MyMSC account. Non-alcoholic drinks also may not be brought aboard, except purified or distilled water in factory-sealed containers for medical devices or infant formula.
