MSC Alcohol Policy

MSC does not allow guests to bring alcohol aboard unless specifically permitted by security. Security may inspect any container and will dispose of concealed alcohol. Alcohol bought in the onboard shops or in ports must be handed to security when you re-board; it is held by the ship and returned just before the end of the cruise.

MSC publishes no corkage fee or bring-your-own-wine program. Because you generally cannot bring your own alcohol aboard, there is no corkage option.

MSC offers a drink package but does not publish a fixed daily price. It is quoted by ship and sailing when you book.

The minimum age is set by the home and destination ports: 21 on ships sailing from North America, the United Arab Emirates, and at MSC's private destinations; 20 from Japan; and 18 from South America, Europe, most of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

The US fleet sells three packages: Premium Extra (the all-inclusive alcohol package), an Alcohol-Free Package, and a Minors Package required for minors when an adult buys Premium Extra. A cap of 15 alcoholic drinks per guest per day applies to package holders. MSC does not publish package prices on its public site; they appear only inside a logged-in MyMSC account and vary by ship, date, and promotion. Non-alcoholic drinks also may not be brought aboard, except sealed distilled water for medical or infant use; onboard refill stations and buffet water are free.
